A message to all members of National Travel Writing Month

Based on nearly all the responses to last week’s call for participants, we are postponing the Travel Writing Month challenge until January.

We’ll regroup on a new platform at a new URL, so please stay tuned for updates.

Also, please keep in mind that the challenge doesn’t require 30 traditional editorial pitches in 30 days: you are free to count any activity that furthers your travel writing goals.

Any questions or suggestions, please email me directly.

A message to all members of National Travel Writing Month

With encouragement from Lola Akinmade Akerstrom and blessings from Christine Gilbert, NaTraWriMo may rise again soon if there is enough interest among group members.

1. Are you interested in participating in a challenge next month, November 1-30, 2011?

2. If not, would another month be more practical for you?

3. Do you have suggestions for improving the challenge?

4. Would you be interested in volunteering time as a moderator?

Additionally, there is the question of whether to continue hosting the group on the Ning platform.

We are currently at 198 registered members. For cost considerations, we would have to limit participation in a Ning community to less than 150 active members.

To support a larger group, we would have to seek sponsorship or institute a small monthly membership charge. As a second alternative, we could (and perhaps eventually will) move back to a WordPress blog-and-comment format on another host.

If you would like to participate again, please respond with your interest and thoughts on continuing the challenge.

With my very best regards,

Lanora Schoeny Mueller

P.S. Please note that we no longer have access to the natrawrimo.com domain, so for the time being, please change your bookmarks to point directly to http://natrawrimo.ning.com.
