Cameron Kids, an imprint of Cameron Books, is releasing Magnolia’s Magnificent Map, the second in a series of Walnut Animal Society books for children, on Tuesday, April 24. Written by artisan doll maker Lauren Bradshaw and illustrated by Wednesday Kirwan, Magnolia the Bunny’s story follows the first book, Henry’s Bright Idea.

“Budding explorers may find inspiration for their own gatherings and maps.” — Kirkus Reviews

Deep in the shade of a walnut grove stands a tall tree house, where a delightful group of friends called the Walnut Animal Society gathers. Their mission is to create and to always remain curious.

The Walnut Animal Society is busy preparing for a very special event. The Society Soirée comes just once a month, when the night is clear and the stars are bright. Tonight it is Magnolia the Bunny’s turn to share. Everyone is excited. Everyone but Magnolia, that is. It has taken her months of exploring and sketching and picture-snapping to create her latest map—a map of the walnut grove. There’s just one problem. Her map isn’t finished. Magnolia’s map is missing a spot. Will she finish it in time?

This charming picture book, the second in the Walnut Animal Society series, is reminiscent of such classics as Winnie the Pooh and is illustrated in a rich, vintage palette. The dust jacket also doubles as a poster, with Magnolia’s map featured on the underside.
