In 1983, a friend of mine shared a quote with me that I have always held dearly. In rereading a journal of quotes i had written down, I came across this one and wanted to share it, as it applies to all walks of life. Monty Love was a mentor when I needed one, and I will always be appreciative of that friendship. When I can’t sleep, reading journals helps me remember what I’ve learned along the way.

Iron rusts from disuse
Water loses its purity from stagnation
And in cold weather freezes.
And so does in action SAP the vigors of the mind!
~Leonardo da Vinci
