Lumberton, North Carolina (February 7, 2014) – The Book ‘Em North Carolina Writers Conference and Book Fair is a national event that brings more than 75 authors, publishers, literary agents, movie producers and famous musicians together under one roof to promote literacy. It is held February 22, 2014, Lumberton, North Carolina, 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, at Robeson Community College.

Headliners include Haywood Smith, a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author and Bob Mayer, a New York Times bestselling author and CEO of Cool Gus Publishing.  Special appearances will be made by legendary musician Jamie Oldaker, drummer for Eric Clapton and others, and by legendary musician John Regan, composer and bass guitarist for Peter Frampton, Mick Jagger and others.

The Children’s Corner will feature readings, face painting, crafts and activities as well as a special appearance by Miss North Carolina 2013, who will be available for pictures and autographs.  Attend panel discussions, book signings, talks and readings occurring every hour, all day, for a multitude of genres–and for both readers and aspiring writers.

Lumberton author, P.M. Terrell, is the founder of this annual event occurring on the last Saturday in February each year. Lumberton is the only location in North Carolina sanctioned to hold this national event that is free and open to the public.  Proceeds from the sale of books go into literacy campaigns through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for United Way of Robeson County for ages 1 through 5; Communities in Schools for Robeson County for all grade levels; and Friends of the Robeson County Public Library for all age groups.
