Pressque Publishing Signs Film Deal For Author Jack Heath’s Modern Day Re-Telling Of The Salem Witch Trials

Sep. 11, 2013BEDFORD, N.H.Jack Heath, former Boston TV reporter and current New Hampshire Today radio host is creating waves in the publishing and film industries this summer. Heath’s publisher Pressque Publishing recently signed a movie deal with Wonderland Pictures, Inc. for the first book in the Salem Witch Trilogy, “Salem VI: Rebecca’s Rising.”

WONDERLAND was founded by Michael DeRoker and is a multi-faceted entertainment media development and production enterprise specializing in the creation of high quality content. “From the moment I started reading, I was drawn into, then held captive, by Jack’s exceptional storytelling. I knew then that I had to do whatever it took to get involved and help turn this great story into a great film,” says DeRoker.

As a journalist, a Marblehead native and a direct descendent of both Rebecca Nurse (the last person to be tried and hanged during the witch trials in 1692) and Ann. R. Putnam (one of her accusers), Heath is uniquely positioned to tell the tale of this paranormal thriller.

Fans would undoubtedly agree, as they led Rebecca’s Rising to the top of the charts as an Amazon Kindle bestseller. Following in its footsteps, the greatly anticipated Salem VI Book II: Chain of Souls was released within a year of the first book’s publication. The Salem VI Trilogy dares to question all that we have come to know about the historically infamous witch trials in Salem, incorporating semi-autobiographical traits into the lead character of John Andrews.

Author Jack Heath, “The thought of watching Andrews come to life in a feature film is far beyond what I had hoped for the series. To know that we have the same vision for the movie as the filmmakers, and the backing of our loyal readers makes me confident of its success transitioning onto the big screen.”

The Salem VI: Rebecca’s Rising and Salem VI: Book II: Chain of Souls is published by Pressque Publishing founded in December 2011 by Sherrie Wilkolaski and Ellie Maas Davis. www.pressquepublishing.com. The books are co-authors by Jack Heath and John Thompson.
