Royalties
Frequently, most books are sold directly by author or through online bookstores such as http://www.amazon.com or http://www.barnesandnoble.com.
They purchase the book at 55%+ discount. Know what your royalty is on wholesale distribution.
What is the royalty on those books sold from the publisher’s website?
Are you paid a royalty on those books you purchase for yourself? We are with Infinity. But our discount is 40%, so they can afford to pay a royalty on it.
How often are you paid royalties? We get a monthly statement, but some publishers pay quarterly and some less. Most have a minimum amount for a check.
What is included in the basic package?
How much are the additional charges?
Do they provide you with a web page?
Do they charge an annual fee to keep you listed in their online bookstore and system?
What type of paper do they use? Most use a copy paper. Some offer a higher grade which costs more. Some books should use the higher grade paper.
Do they accept returns?
How long have they been in business?
Check author testimonials. Better yet, contact authors who have used the publisher you are considering.
First, you probably need a sheet for each publisher.
